Although Scotland is still in lockdown, it doesn’t mean you can’t get funding to improve your home with renewable technology!

There’s still time for homeowners to receive up to £13,500 as part of the £4.5 million Home Energy Scotland loan scheme, funded by the Scottish Government. The scheme aims to help people install renewable and energy efficiency measures in their homes.

You can apply for up to 75 per cent cashback up to the value of £7,500 towards the cost of installing a renewable heating system and a further 40 per cent cashback up to £6,000 for installing energy efficiency measures.

You’ll need a quote from an installer to support your application but, whilst installation may not be possible during lockdown, homeowners can still prepare now as loan offers are valid for a year, from the date of offer.

The enhanced cashback initiative is part of the Scottish Government’s action plan to reduce emissions from heating our buildings and support a green economic recovery from Covid-19.

The cashback offer for homeowners is an extension of the Home Energy Scotland loan scheme which offers interest-free loans for those looking to install renewable and energy efficiency measures in their homes.

Cashback is subject to availability while funds last, or until the end of the financial year 2020/21 – whichever is sooner – and funds are reserved for customers when a loan is offered.
