Cashback for small businesses installing renewables or improving energy efficiency

Good news for small business owners – a £4 million cashback grant scheme has been launched by the Scottish Government to help small and medium sized businesses improve energy efficiency and install renewables.

Small businesses could get up to £20,000 funding after the Scottish Government recognised it can be difficult to invest in improving energy efficiency, especially in the current financial climate. It’s hoped that the additional funding will help support a green economic recovery from Covid-19.

Businesses can apply for a 75% cashback grant of up to £10,000 towards the cost of a renewable heating system, and a further 30% cashback grant of up to £10,000 for energy efficiency measures.

There’s also support available to help businesses reduce their energy use and bills, and work out which energy efficiency improvements or renewable technologies to go for. Business Energy Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Business Support experts can produce a tailored report for businesses with recommendations – and this service is completely free.

If you’re a small business owner, find out more about the support available on Business Energy Scotland’s website.
