Working with the NHS to get you ready for winter – find out how we can support you!
Living in a warm home positively affects your physical and mental wellbeing. We’re working with the NHS to help you make your winter feel like summer by supporting you to make changes at home so it’s warmer this winter for less.
Home Energy Scotland is a free and impartial advice service. We help households in Scotland to stay warm, save money on energy bills and live a lower carbon life. We can also explore if households might be eligible for grants and funding.
Fill in your details below and one of our advisors will be in touch to see how we can support you.
Insulating your home – it’s important to make your home as insulated and free of draughts as possible so it’s more comfortable to spend time in it. For instance, if you have no loft insulation, installing 270mm of new insulation can really help retain heat in your home. It could also save you up to £225 a year on your energy bills.
Using heating controls – room thermostats and heating controls allow you to set and maintain the temperature in your home and make sure it’s warm for the times of day that you’re at home and switched off to save electricity when you’re not.
Water – if everyone in a household of four takes a four minute shower, you can save £55 a year.
Green Homes Network – click here to read about experiences from people living in Scotland who have installed energy efficient improvements and renewable measures in their home.
The easiest way to begin making your home more comfortable is to take a Home Energy Check and find out what changes you can start making.
